Moving from state to state or across country and driving one car or three can be very diffcult. We moved half way across the country and and had to take two cars with us. We decided to ship the cars with a car shipping company and hired ace car shipping they shipped both cars together and we drove one and should have shipped all three cars.

I wouldn’t put the DMV at the top of my list of things to do when looking for a car shipper. Sure, you’ll have to address that at some point, but you’re better off going to the FMCSA website and looking up information about a company–that’s the only truly accurate information you’re going to find on the internet.

If you simply have your car shipped across the country you do not have to spend time driving it out there. You can simply hop on a plane and wait for your car to come to you. Another benefit of auto shipping is that it does not put any miles on your car. Although auto shipping does cost money, you save some money in the value of the car by putting fewer miles on it. In some cases auto shipping is a necessity.

Yeah moving a car across the country is pretty expensive. If its not a valuable car, then its a good idea to sell it or tow it behind a U-haul. Great article though!

Another option is to sell the car before leaving. This may not always be feasible, but it’s a good idea if you don’t plan on keeping it much longer.
